ZAH Youth Group Blood Drive

Hello Everyone,

As y’all know the ZAH Youth Group is conducting a blood drive (flyer is attached) on Sunday October 1st, 2017 which is our Gahambar day from 10:30am to 3.00pm at the Zoroastrian Heritage and Cultural Center (ZHCC).  The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center informed us that due to Hurricane Harvey they lost the opportunity of receiving over 3,000 bottles of blood, besides due to the holiday season coming up they require very large quantities of blood of all types.

As mentioned by them ONE donor can SAVE THREE PEOPLE’S LIVES so this is another great opportunity we have at ZAH of doing something special for our Greater Houston community after the devastation Hurricane Harvey caused. The time slots are filling up so if you would like to donate please select 3 best time slots from 10.30 am at 15 minute intervals until 2.15 pm and I can put you in the best available one. Listed below are some things to note.

Before You Donate:

  • Bring a picture I.D.
  • You MUST be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 lbs., and be in good health; or 16 years old, 122 lbs., and have consent form signed by parent or guardian (attached below)

After You Donate:

  • Make sure to eat sodium rich foods
  • Drink more water to prevent dehydration
  • Avoid strenuous activities such as sports or exercise for a day

Special Note: Anyone who has traveled to India or Pakistan in the past 12 months are not eligible to donate due to Malaria concerns

If there are any other questions or concerns please contact Donor Services at 713-791-6608 or email medops@giveblood.org.

Lastly, we highly encourage everyone to please register and donate as every donation could save up to three people’s lives!

Please do not hesitate to contact me at yazsid01@yahoo.com if you have any questions.
