One of Memorial Hermann Hospital’s well-known Cardilogists has agreed to give us a talk on the subject we, the Zoroastrians of Houston, just absolutely love – PARSI FOOD, or actually any food for that matter. However, we are seldom aware of the repercussions of this love affair with food – heart disease (the number one killer in the US), diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.  Taking his own precious personal time to do so, Dr. “Rasi” Wickramsinghe will be talking on

WHAT YOU EAT AND HOW YOU EAT COULD BE KILLING YOU….and how you can prevent it

Dr. Rasi, as he likes to be called, specializes in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardilogy. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at Stanford University, and his Masters and Doctorate from Johns Hopkins University. He is Board Certified in several specialties pertaining to cardiology. In addition to that, he is an Associate Professor at McGovern School of Medicine in Houston, the sixth-largest institution in the US. In fact, it would take several pages to list all of his qualifications, credentials and his specialties

Besides his impeccable qualifications, Dr, Rasi is a very entertaining speaker, blending humor with knowledge. Among the interesting topics that he discusses: Is red wine really good for you?..Are eggs really bad for you?… What/how to order at a restaurant? …What/how to eat at a buffet?…Do crash diets really work? ….and a host of other myths and misconceptions we may have about our nutrition and diet.

Attending this presentation will probably be the most important decision you will ever make if you are truly concerned about your health and have felt helpless to do something about it. It could well turn out to be the Turning Point in your Life.
